Comparison
Getdirecto (Directo) vs Expedia

Expedia

Confidence: High

| Compare | Getdirecto (Directo) | Expedia |
|---|---|---|
| Verdict | Worth it | Depends |
| Best for | Frequent hotel bookers | Leisure travelers bundling flight + hotel |
| Who it's not for | Once-a-year vacationers . savings won't justify another extension | Trips that might need changes or refunds |
| Privacy | Mixed: ScamDoc rates the main domain 97% trust and Scam-Detector calls it secure, but Gridinsoft flags a subdomain; no known breaches.⁷ | No known breaches of the core platform; two third-party incidents (2018 Orbitz, 2020 Prestige) exposed guest data. |
| Support quality | No evidence found | Refund and complaint volume dominates reviews |
| Public sentiment | Public user reviews are sparse: Mozilla's add-on page includes 1-star reviews and a critical Italian reviewer, while trust scanners rate the main domain highly.⁶ | Polarized: travelers praise the deals and inventory but repeatedly report poor customer service and refund hassles.13 |
| Biggest gotcha | Extension needs access to booking-site pages to compare prices; review permissions first⁵ | Changes route through Expedia, not the airline or hotel; refund waits are common |
