VERDICT

Should I use Smash?

Send large files anywhere for free — easy, fast, ultra-secure, no sign-up. - fromsmash.com

Depends. Use Smash free for occasional no-signup sends; vendor claims no size limits but a third party reports a 2GB free cap. Don't pay before confirming real prices and comparing rivals like Filemail (5GB free) or TransferNow (250GB per transfer).

Confidence

Medium. Based on 14 public sources; no independent Smash reviews found — evidence skews to vendor pages and competitor claims.

Best for

  • One-off large sends without an account
  • Creative freelancers sharing video or photo files
  • Teams wanting branded sends on paid tiers

Not for

  • Anyone needing cloud storage or backup
  • High-volume senders — rivals give 250GB free per transfer
  • Buyers requiring independently verified security claims
  • Teams wanting collaboration, not just sending

Gotchas - check before you buy

medium

'No size limits' conflicts with a third-party 2GB free-cap report — verify before big sends.

medium

Actual prices not visible in reviewed sources — confirm Pro/Team/Enterprise costs before committing.

medium

Guess: it's a transfer tool, not storage — files likely expire; don't use as an archive.

low

Guess: free transfers may be slower or expire sooner than paid — check before recurring use.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • No sign-up required for basic sends
  • AES-256 at rest, TLS in transit, dedicated security team
  • Claims no file size limits on transfers
  • Scales from free to Enterprise with a developer API

Cons

  • Free cap reportedly 2GB — contradicting 'no limits' marketing
  • Rivals' free tiers beat it: Filemail 5GB, TransferNow 250GB
  • Marketing leans on superlatives; independent verification is thin

Free, no-signup big-file sender with decent security claims — but rivals offer far larger free caps. Try free; don't overpay.
