Buy it if you need collaborative mind mapping and want a free way to start. It is mature, easy to use, and widely reviewed. Skip it if you refuse subscriptions or want a desktop one-time purchase; Xmind or MindMup fit better.

Gotchas - check before you buy

medium

Subscription-only: no perpetual license, a recurring complaint in Reddit threads.

medium

Guess: migrating maps to rivals like Xmind or Mindomo can be awkward; test export early.

low

Free plan carries limits; read the vendor's plans-explained page before relying on it.

low

Refunds are governed by a strict policy article, read terms before annual billing.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Lifehacker calls it an easy-to-use mind mapping app
  • Runs on iPad, Android, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Teams

  • AI features now included, with a published security overview

Cons

  • Subscription-only; Reddit users actively want a one-time purchase
  • A reviewer publicly quit the tool over its shortcomings
  • A paying user criticizes the phone app
  • Free plan has limits; vendor dedicates a page to explaining them
