Orca Review

Depends

Should I use Orca?

AI-Powered Cloud Security Platform & CNAPP - orca.security

Buy if you run a sizable multi-cloud estate and need one platform for vulnerabilities, secrets, and compliance. Skip it if you're a small team — quote-based enterprise pricing makes it overkill.

Best for

  • Mid-size to enterprise multi-cloud teams
  • Security teams consolidating scattered cloud tools
  • AWS/GCP/Azure shops wanting agentless scanning
  • Compliance-heavy orgs

Not for

  • Small startups with a few dozen cloud assets
  • Teams wanting transparent, self-serve pricing
  • On-prem-only shops — this scans cloud, not your closet servers
  • Buyers with no security staff to act on findings

Gotchas - check before you buy

medium

Usage-based enterprise pricing — costs scale with cloud assets and can balloon

medium

Guess: no self-serve free tier; expect a sales-led trial process

low

Wiz patent dispute — mild vendor-stability noise if litigation drags on

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Agentless pioneer — no per-host agents to install or manage
  • Broad CNAPP coverage: vulnerability management, secrets, data risk
  • Research credibility: found four Microsoft Azure vulnerabilities
  • Available via AWS Marketplace and Google Cloud for easy procurement
  • Users consistently praise the product on G2

Cons

  • No public pricing; quote-based sales complicate budgeting
  • Patent litigation with rival Wiz signals a contentious market
  • Full CNAPP is overkill if you need only basic cloud scanning
