oscarb pad versus Obsidian
Compare	oscarb pad	Obsidian
Verdict	Skip	Depends
Best for	Oscar's own personal reference	Personal knowledge bases
Who it's not for	Teams shopping for a real knowledge base	Teams needing shared, out-of-box collaboration
Privacy	No known public vulnerabilities found in the sources reviewed.^⁷	Private, local-first design with third-party audits, but the plugin ecosystem has attracted real malware abuse.
Support quality	No support channel exists	No direct support-quality evidence found.
Public sentiment	No reviews of this site exist in the sources; every 'Oscar's Pad' review found describes an unrelated Welsh holiday cottage.	Users love the flexibility and adaptability but frequently flag the steep learning curve, and some long-time fans are drifting away.^⁹
Biggest gotcha	Guess: a personal wiki can go offline anytime; don't depend on it for work^¹	Malicious plugins have been abused to deploy malware; vet third-party plugins carefully.
