| Verdict | Skip | Depends |
| Best for | Casual free browsing of room listings | Local in-person cash deals |
| Who it's not for | Anyone paying for contact or a subscription | Anyone buying high-value items sight unseen |
| Privacy | No known public vulnerabilities found in the sources reviewed; the main public trust issue is an FTC settlement over fake reviews and phony listings, and no security page is published.⁵ | No CVEs against itself found, but its brand is heavily abused and one 2021 flaw was actively exploited. |
| Support quality | 2,363 service reviews; 1-stars scam-dominated | No usable evidence in sources |
| Public sentiment | Evidence is unflattering: a 3.2/5 from 14 reviews, 2,363 Trustpilot customer-service reviews, and an analysis finding 1-stars dominated by 'scam'.⁶ | Feedback is polarized: cheap local finds win praise while complaint sites are flooded with scam and support gripes.12 |
| Biggest gotcha | FTC settlement means fake reviews and phony listings were real problems . verify every listing independently.⁵ | Google Voice verification-code scam targets sellers via fake buyers |
