Kamernet Review

Depends

Should I use Kamernet?

Woningaanbod - kamernet.nl

Worth paying for if you are an international student or expat who needs the Netherlands' largest room supply and can respond fast and screen carefully. Skip it if you want a free option or any guarantee — subscription value, auto-renewal and scam complaints are common.

Best for

  • International students in NL
  • Expats in Dutch student cities
  • Landlords filling rooms
  • Short-term rental seekers

Not for

  • Anyone wanting free landlord contact — messaging sits behind a subscription
  • Renters expecting guarantees — it is a listings site, not an agent
  • Searchers outside the Netherlands
  • People already monitoring free alert tools; the overlap is high

Gotchas - check before you buy

high

Watch auto-renewal: users report charges continuing after a one-month subscription

high

Never pay deposits off-platform; scammers target renters, per Kamernet's own safety advice

medium

Paying does not guarantee replies; complaints of being asked to pay for nothing

low

Secondhand subscriptions circulate on Facebook; reselling likely violates terms

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Claims largest room rental supply in the Netherlands
  • Screening team and anti-scam guidance for tenants

Cons

  • Paid subscription required just to respond to landlords
  • Redditors widely call the subscription a waste of money
  • Users report being scammed through listings
  • One-month subscriptions reportedly auto-renewed unexpectedly
